  • Scarecrows – Directly in front of Mentawai Surf Lodge
    • Type: Left-hand reef break
    • Skill Level: Intermediate to advanced
    • Highlights: Long walls, occasional barrels, playful sections, super consistent.


  • Telescopes
    • Type: Long left-hander
    • Skill Level: Intermediate to expert
    • Highlights: Long peeling walls, mechanical perfection on clean days, great for photos.


  • Icelands
    • Type: Left-hand reef break
    • Skill Level: Advanced
    • Highlights: Heavy and powerful waves; best for tube hunters and big swell days.


  • Hookers
    • Type: Hollow left-hander
    • Skill Level: Advanced
    • Highlights: Thick barrels, very fast sectioning wave; a true Mentawai classic.

🌴 SIBERUT ISLAND (Northern Mentawais)

These breaks are world-famous for their power and perfection.

  • Bankvaults – Heavy, barreling right
  • Nipussi – Mellow, long right-hand wall
  • Kandui Left – Long, perfect barrels; one of the Mentawais’ crown jewels
  • Beng Bengs – Playful left; great for intermediates
  • Pitstops – User-friendly right; beautiful setting and forgiving reef
  • E-Bay – Hollow lefts with photogenic barrels

  

🌅 NORTH PAGAI ISLAND

  • Macaronis (aka “Maccas”) – Often rated as one of the most perfect waves on Earth
    • Type: Mechanical left-hand reef break
    • Skill Level: Intermediate to advanced
    • Highlights: Barrel sections, perfect shape, consistent year-round.
  • Greenbush
    • Type: Heavy, barreling left
    • Skill Level: Expert
    • Highlights: Deep tubes, thick lip, one of the heaviest waves in the Mentawais.

      

🐚 SOUTH PAGAI ISLAND

  • Rags Left – Fast, barreling, extremely consistent
  • Rags Right – Short, hollow right-hand barrel
  • Thunders – Consistent left-hander that handles large swells
  • Lance’s Left – Perfect left-hander with long wrapping walls
  • Lance’s Right (HT’s / Hollow Trees) – Iconic world-class right barrel; one of Indonesia’s best
